I've been working with PTB and have had a mixed experience. I disliked sending in individual chapters and having them beta'd by random people each time, but eventually you get assigned permanent betas. That has been a better experience. I've become good friends with one of my betas and talk to her on a regular basis. Everyone I've encountered with has been nice, but not everyone is as qualified as others. That being said, it's a good program for people who don't know anyone in the fandom personally. However, PTB is not accepting new stories right now. They are experiencing a beta shortage and are looking for new members.

On the topic of well known stories that don't have betas, I heard that Tara Sue Me wrote most of The Submissive without a beta. Apparently her lovely beta didn't come on board until her story had over 20 chapters.

Okay, Ladies, I know you are super busy and so I wanted to make a suggestion that might inspire some people to post on the forums. I listened to the last episode this morning and you all haven't had much time to read many new fics. I always like to hear what you are reading but was disappointed when you didn't have much to pimp. So, here's my idea. When you don't have time to read new stuff, maybe you should check out your Epic Recommendation forum and read some of the recs from there. I have been remiss in not putting my recs out there recently but I have a few that I would love to spread the word on. I'll see about rec'ing them there soon. So, that's my thought...if you are at a loss for fics to rec, check out your own forum and see what others are reading. And then if the listeners think that they may have a chance in getting their rec read on the podcast, more people might be inclined to post their recs on the forum. Win/Win situation!!!

Thanks for doing even the short podcast though. I'm sure more than just me has missed you all! It was nice to hear from you again.

Best Wishes,
Beans827

I love "A Rough Start" by ItzMegan73...she's a really great writer! I also loved "The Tutor" by her (which is completed) and another in progress story she is working on "The Cannabean Betrothal"....sorry if you mentioned these on the episode (I listened to it a few days ago and can't remember!)

KenoshaChick-are you from Kenosha, WI? haha Just curious. I am from and still live in Wisconsin... :)

It was great having the podcast back again!

High Fives to people from Wisconsin! Kenosha is my hometown. I still live in Wisconsin as well, but in a different city while I'm at school.

Thanks for your honesty re: being frustrated with Twilight fan fiction at the moment. I'm feeling similarly but don't want to read anything angsty due to too much drama in RL. I've been reading Harry Potter fan fiction instead, but intrigued by Danielle, I think, who said she was reading Pride and Prejudice fanfiction. Any recommendations? Thanks and welcome back, we missed you!

Where did you go? I really miss the podcasts. I love the recs. I need help sorting through the awful fics and need to listen to authors thought too. You all are doing a public service. Miss the laughs and the snarky comments. Please tell us the status of future podcasts.
