Basically, the Support Stacie Auction is an awesome panfandom fundraiser where the good and great of fanfic authors come together to try and raise money for a woman called Stacie who suffers from ovarian and breast cancer:

In March 2007, Stacie Holeman, known as truelovepooh in fandom and on LJ, was diagnosed with breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Because she was within the 90-day enrollment period of her new medical insurance, Stacie has been forced to join the ranks of millions of uninsured Americans. (read the rest)


The Way It Works
Author X pledges to write a fanfic of Y number of words and put it up for auction. Readers bid for it. The reader with the highest bid is then allowed to produce a list of specifications for the fic, which the author has to comply to. The end product: A totally personalised fanfic for the highest bidder by one of their favourite authors and lots of money raised for charity.

It works like any auction- you only pay if your bid wins. In other words, if you part with your hard earned cash you can be safe in the knowledge that not only are you helping an excellent cause, but you'll also receive an excellent piece of fanfiction as a reward! A pretty win/win situation, I think you'll agree!

I finally got all the letters sent to me put together and posted it on my livejournal. It's not exactly the prettiest thing right now because I don't know html that well, but the important thing is that it's up and you can read it.

So... who remembers that time when we said we were going to have this live episode and then record it so others could listen to it later?

Well, if you were there for the epic failure known as our first live episode attempt, you know what I'm about to say. If you weren't, I'm sorry in advance.

We didn't record it. Actually, we could only get Claire and me on the 'air' for the announcements.

The winners will be posted on the Eddies and Bellies site soon, so don't fret if you didn't hear who won. (I'll give you a hint, though. 'Wide Awake' is a very popular story.)

However, we are going to put together the recordings that we (the co-hosts) did of each other's stories for you guys to enjoy at home. Then we'll put up a poll on this page, asking you to vote on your favorite recording. This is separate from the reader audio fanfiction contest we're running. It's just kind of a fun little thing we did because we didn't want to be left out.

For those of you who wanted more time to read the stories nominated for the Eddies and Bellies... guess what? You've got it!

Limona and WtVoC have decided to extend voting for another week, ending on March 4th instead of tomorrow.

This decision was mostly made because of all the ff.net fail (anyone else having problems signing in?), but I think they've also realized how hard it is for one person to read all those great stories in just one week.

Sadly, this also means the live Awards Announcement episode we were planning on having this Saturday night isn't going to happen. We'll let you guys know when it's going to take place, since we still need to talk about it amongst ourselves.

In other news, episode 9 is being worked on, but apparently Audacity's hatred toward Claire wasn't cleared up last week when she apologized for calling it a dumb, b****y, piece of s***. Also something about siccing a virus on it if it didn't start behaving... Audacity's very sensitive about things like that. Who knew?

We'll get it up as soon as we can.

And don't forget about our first listener contest! I know it's not nearly as exciting as Psymom's new fanfic contest (*sigh* How I wish I was that creative...), but it's still cool in its own right.

So, here are the things for y'all to do: (in no particular order)
1. Read all the great stories nominated for an Eddie or Bellie, and then vote
2. Record yourself reading a passage from one of your favorite fanfics
3. Glare at ff.net's log in screen when it denies you admittance for the hundredth time
4. Keep an eye out for our 9th episode and when the live episode's going to take place

So, we recorded an awesome episode but, once again, Audacity hates Claire. I'm also very busy at school this week so we aren't quite sure when this episode is going to be out. Sorry for the delay.

Also, our live show with limona (Christina) and withthevampsofcourse (Kristen) is scheduled for 6:30 PST on Saturday February 28th. It will be taking place on Ustream, our page can be found here
If it so happens that we cannot figure out how to use Ustream (can you feel the professionalism we have?) we may keep voting up for another week while we do our best to figure it out.

But, I think everything will be fine and the show will go off, more or less, as planned. Make sure to tune in as we will be takingyour questions from the chat window. Plus, you'll get to chat with other awesome ...er...Twilight Fanfiction People. We need a name. Or something.

And, as detailed in the upcoming episode, we are hosting our very first contest! Yay!
I will make a more detailed post with all of the rules and dates and such involved after the episode is out, but just so you can start thinking about what you are going to do, I thought I'd mention is briefly now.

The Audio Fanfiction Contest!

Pick your favourite part of your favourite Twilight Fanfiction story (as long as it is rated PG-13 or lower) and record yourself reading it. Send it us in an email with "Audio Fanfiction Contest" in the subject line. In an upcoming episode we will play all the submissions (so, you know, it would be great if we got a bunch) and you, the listener, will get to vote for your favourites! The winner will get to come on an episode.

We're really excited about this contest and are eagerly looking forward to hearing your readings. And I just wanted to mention that if we've invited you on an episode, you aren't eligible to win this contest. If you want to do it, you're welcome to...but you can't win. This includes, but is not limited to, any and all admin at The Lazy Yet Discerning Ficster (seriously, you're like our, mostly, more mature, possibly older, sibling. Any of you is welcome any time), wtvoc, limona, Halojones, etc.

We may, or may not, think up something for second and third place.

I completely forgot to put something in the news. We will definately have it next week but I thought I'd make a post about here.

The Twilight Gift Exchange, from what I understand, is a happy place one can go to, where you sign up to write or create something from an anonymous prompt that is given to you. In return your prompt is anonymously given to someone else for them the create something for you. At the end, when everyone has completed their creations, we all share and enjoy the amazing results.

The Awesome GinnyW has set up a community here and I highly suggest you check it out. Not only do you get to enjoy something tailor made from your prompt, but (again, from what I understand) you get to see everyone else's as well.

What? I mean about the nominees...not, you know, that other thing.

Well, no I'm not. But the wonderful hosts of the Twilighters Anonymous podcast did interview me about Temptation. These are the same girls that have interviewed Peter Facinelli...and then they emailed us? Their podcast focuses more on the Twilight Fandom as a whole and features a song of the week segment, a fanfiction of the week, and at the moment they are doing a chapter by chapter discussion of New Moon.
